Hb_Kai Posted November 22, 2008 Report Share Posted November 22, 2008 Debugging it might help, though I don't know too much about networks.Is the network configured properly, try re-configuring it too just to make sure it's set up properly. Or you may have a problem with your svchost.exe which supplies system data of your PC. There should usually be 29(I think) of these svchosts running on your PC and each one of them do a different thing.One of them is for the networks though. :D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
homecomputeraid Posted November 22, 2008 Report Share Posted November 22, 2008 Check the Windows Event Logs for more clues about what's going on. Right click on My Computer, and select Manage. Then go to Event Viewer and look at the different logs for errors. The System and Application logs are the most likely places but you can check all logs.You can post errors here or do a Google search for them. Try not to delete it somehow. :Dhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svchost is a Wiki Article I was shown from another post I made earlier today about svchost.exe.It might be you have a worm or bug which is taking advantage of such an important thing on your PC, if this is the case you should really scan your PC for viruses?EDIT:- Just had a thought: What did you do before you turned the computer off the last time before this started happening?I have seen it happen at times because of the Windows Update and if it is that, then I could show you how to repair your svchost.exe, but firstly you need to find out if it is your network that has caused the svchost.exe errors or anything else. Hb_Kai Posted November 25, 2008 Report Share Posted November 25, 2008 I think you have registry errors because you have been leaving programs on and logging off your turning off your PC. Not saying you have been but it says on this log file there have been processes still running at these times - it might just be that you didn't notice them or your PC's gaining a mind of its own.Try the chkdsk utility. I'm having a bit of a problem finding mine because it's disappeared but it's in your so I can't tell you exactly where it is but it's in the start menu somewhere. Using an admin account go to Start>Run>type in cmd, type chkdsk and it should search through your drive for errors, if that doesn't sort out the problem use a registry error scanner and go through the registry errors and check the ones you want to repair. Even if you have Antivirus software, you computer can be vulnerable if Windows is not kept up to date. I recommend updating Windows if you're able to.
