Windows 2000 Pro issue

Problem: Windows 2K Excel and outlook and Word would not open. When clicking on an already created document, an error would say "Document could not be found or does not exist(corrupt)"

Efforts: Uninstalled Windows Office 2k and re-installed. Now Word will open, but not the other appllications. Went to reboot into F8 to go into safemode and after hitting F8 I am getting "Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMCed

Now regardless of what I do I cannot get past this screen upon bootup. It's obvious that this is a corrupt registry file.

Question: I do not have the Windows 2000 Pro disk anymore which has the recover console. Is there anything alternate options for fixing the registry without having the CD, or is my best bet to get a copy of the OS CD? Any other options out there aside from a fresh install?
