Prevent XP password change

Double-click on the user name you want to affect, then check 'User cannot change password' on the General tab.

For more complex change prevention you can use Windows SteadyState.

Copied from another forum

Try starting a new MMC console by going to Start -> Run -> "mmc". This will

bring up a blank console. Go to File -> Add/Remove Snap-In and click Add...

From the list, select local users and groups, from the dialog box that

appears select Local Computer. Click finish and the console window should

display properly.

Thanks for your help but it seems that this will not work as I am using XP home
