Windows Repair formatted 2nd hard drive

Recommended Posts

I was having problems and it had been a while so i thought i better do a windows repair. Being completely stupid and actually trusting microsoft that it would work properly I did the repair. When I got back into windows i discovered that my extra hard drives had been formatted or something--they appeared empty. Maybe the master boot record got written over or something...

any ideas on getting them back? they had all my backups and everything...

On a Windows repair you have to select the drive that the Windows installation is on so it should not touch any other drives.

You can use Disk management to see if there is anything on your other hard drives or use a program like GParted to look at them.

Also have you put SP2/SP3 on ?.
