Nicole Posted January 15, 2009 Report Share Posted January 15, 2009 I Have a Compaq Presario c500 Windows Vista Home BasicAbout a week or so ago the internet stopped working after i fell asleep on it.I went into the device Mangers and right next to WAN Miniport (PPTP) there was a yellow exclumation point. So im guessing its not making the internet work. Ive had this computer for over a year which means theres no warranty left. I got it as a gift from my parents. No wonder it's broeken... :lol: I don't think the WAN Miniport is the culprit, but to be sure, try to repair it first. Is there a troubleshooter when you open the WAN Miniport entry in the Device Manager?Also, check if you have completely no access to the Internet, try to ping a public address, like ping google.com (from Start -> Run -> cmd); what result do you get?
