zzr
I'm having problems installing/unstalling programmes and getting online updates. My internet connection has become erratic and checking the event log shows 100's of warnings and errors about not being able to find installations programmes. Checking the service log also shows that Workstation although set to auto, hasn't started and trying to do it manually just gets a message " Could not start Workstation on local computer. Error code 2250."Whether this is causing the problem I dont' know. I've tried installing a couple of programmes ( WinDVD, AVP and AVG anti virus) but half way through installations get messages about not being able to find certain files and has left me with WinDVD on a installation loop which pops up at will. Have managed to load AVG but can't get it to update with a message to check I'm connected to the internet which I am. This all kicked off after installing a new monitor and couldn't play DVD discs using WMP. Kept getting error message to alter screen resolution but this made no difference. After checking various forums it was suggested the problem was down to codecs and after installing PowerDVD I am now able to play DVD's. But since then, various problems have occured. I've run Adaware which found a couple of Trojans and deleted, AVG seems to think most of my programmes are threats and fills the result box. Any suggestions anyone please? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Sounds like some malware still left on your system; start with an online scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ - use the v6.6 link at the bottom of the page.
