maureenc
Hello,I wonder if anyone could help me with this very frustrating problem. We tried to install the software for a Brother 135C on our Windows 2000 machine. During the installation we had problems because we could not install the Paper Port 11SE software which it appears isn't compatible with WIndows 2000 (despite the printer being sold as 2000 compatible). We then tried to install without the Scansoft stuff as per instructions and this completed fine. However..... We now have a constant "installing....." message and Windows keeps trying to install the Paper Port...... constantly..... It won't go away!In desperation we decided to uninstall the printer.... Worked fine but the same messages keeps appearing. There is a Scansoft folder which I am unable to delete nor can I rename it or anything in it...... I've removed Scansoft from the Startup but that doesn't work either.... The Brother Support people say we will have to install Windows upgrades but we don't want to do this, they are a pain and hog the CPU for no good reason.....I think the only way I can get rid of this monster now is to find a way into DOS before Windows loads and delete the Library from there.... But not sure how I can do this....PLEASE, PLEASE help me to get rid of this thing before I go round the bend....
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Welcome to the Windows Forum. What service pack level of Windows 2000 do you have? Almost all software requires SP4; earlier versions are insecure.Have you tried to download the Windows 2000 version of your software from Brother?
