samarth1200 Posted February 11, 2009 Report Share Posted February 11, 2009 Hi!When I play music in the back ground and run another application in the front like adobe reader or MS word, the music gets distorted and screeches for a couple of seconds and then gets back to normal.I don't know why it happens .... any ideas??I had the PSU replaced. Katy Posted March 2, 2009 Report Share Posted March 2, 2009 Judging by the size of your hard drives, I would say they are PATA. If so, you should check if any of the hard drives aren't running in PIO mode. You can do that from Device Manager -> IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers -> Primary IDE channel (and secondary as well) -> Advanced Settings: check each device that reads "Auto Detection" on "Device Type" to have "Ultra DMA Mode X" (where X is a digit) on "Current Transfer Mode".Let me know how it works.
