GreenMTman
Hi everyone- I just purchased a Dell laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium. I have an older Dell desktop running XP. My Lexmark 8300 All In One printer is connected to the desktop, but was wirelessly networked to my old laptop. I can't get this arrangement to work with my new laptop. I can "see" the printer in my MSHOME network from my laptop, but not vice versa, and naturally I can't print remotely. Thanks...
Rickp400
since you can see the printer in MsHome got the ip of the printer and when you go to the printer properties go to the Ports tab try Configer Port or Add Portand use the ip that you got this a little tricky working with this i dont remember how i did it but i got it working but there is another way as well but you can go to your printer ip but you have to know you user and password you should fine that in the manual but that is your setting for the printer that you want to do special functions overall you must have your printer install to use the network if not do the install with networking good luck
