Hb_Kai Posted February 13, 2009 Report Share Posted February 13, 2009 I've found out that the reason I can't install games anymore (I've only tried pre-XP-games so far so don't know about the new ones), is because of the 16 bit InstallShield but does anyone know any work-arounds for it? Hb_Kai Posted February 14, 2009 Author Report Share Posted February 14, 2009 No. I tried that and it still doesn't work.Each time I try installing them with any method the process hangs until I end it in Task Manager. Hb_Kai Posted February 20, 2009 Author Report Share Posted February 20, 2009 I'm still having this problem but have found out more so thought I'd come here and ask and see if anyone has any more ideas.The discs works on both XP SP2 and Vista Home. They just don't work on SP3.I've copied the files from the disc into a folder on the computer and ran all the installers plus DOS installers and it doesn't work.Mr. Singh has gone into the registry and tried editing a few things in there making my user account available to do anything possible on the computer, checked the event history, still nothing.Ideas?Oh. None of my software, games or programs require SP3 to be installed and none will do as I only use stable SP2 ones.Short of reformatting, downloading, installing, rebooting and whatever other crap, can I remove SP3 and go back to SP2?
