Slyke Posted February 28, 2009 Report Share Posted February 28, 2009 My network is setup as such:Modem/Router << Computer << Switch << Multiple ComputersSo all the computers at my house have to run through the main computer (The server).I'm running XP Professional on it. Is there any free software that I can use that can throttle the ethernet speed for all connections that are not local (So Any HTTP/FTP etc to the internet is affected).I will need it to do this for each individual client, and depending on what time of day it is.This needs to happen because my cousins like to come up and use all my internet cap downloading games/songs and sometimes even movies and other pointless things that they are into (They seriously download the same files multiple times across each computer that I have, which is A LOT of downloads). This includes youtube and it all. I need it per client because my nan's computer needs to have normal speeds and rewiring the nework throughout the house is out of the question (Not to mention the server is a Firewall DNS and DHCP server and everything else).I live with my grandparents, and well I really can't say to my cousins don't use the computer and we can't moderate them 24/7. I'm responsible for the network (My grandparents don't know anything about computers, and don't care as long as it works). So capping the speed is really the only option.
