fourlambs Posted March 1, 2009 Report Share Posted March 1, 2009 I installed Vista HP a few weeks ago (over XP), all was working well for a few weeks until suddenly Vista would not recognise the sound card with a error saying no sound device installed....... (Realtek CMedia AC97), "This device cannot start - Code 10"...I have tried all sorts of driver upgrades, system restores and reboots to no avail. Eventually ended up re-formating and reinstalling XP Home, thinking this would solve my problem... but it did not Has anyone come across this before, can someone shed some light on a resolution to this problem ??I am pulling my hair out, if it goes on any longer I'll be bald...Cheers PPS Current driver installed for sound card = 5.12.1.51 (Realtek AC97) dated 2006...
