did you do a new install or used a backup?

i would reinstall from scratch

use a strong antivirus like NOD32

use a strong HOSTS file

a variety of anti malware programmes

run a browser with javascript disabled (the easiest way is Firefox+the noscript extension)

run as a limited user

use a strong password

backup regularly

No! Deleting prefetch files will not improve performance in any way, but may seriously slow your system down. Windows takes care of prefetch file management; users should not touch the prefetch files!

Temp files and Internet browser temporary files are best taken care of with CCleaner.
