goodlife2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Share Posted March 16, 2009 I am newbie for Windows server 2003 environment and need quick help.1) Our Web Server Server is located in a data center and I use remote desktop to complete my different tasks on it, but whenever I log in to the server and check the event viewer for system alert and errors, I always see logs related with printer errors which is connected to my account locally. I disabled remote services on my local system but still whenever I log in to that server it gives logs of errors for printers. I never use any print command or anything. Also I checked other accounts, whenever someone log in to the server, it generates the same errors but for printers connected to their local environment. Please let me know how to stop these errors.2) I guess Active Directory comes as inbuilt installation on Server 2003. But I do not see any on our server. I tried to install it from Add/ remove windows component but do not see any AD listing there as well. We are using only one server for all our task. You'd ignore these logs on the server.2) Active directory does not come by default installed on the server. One has to install it on the server manually by using, Start >> Run >> type 'DCPROMO' and follow the steps to complete Active Directory installation.
