Init problem!

Hello! Im new in this forum. I have a very big problem with my pc :(; when I tried to extract a big file (2.5 GB, it was a DVD) from a .rar file, I started to do it in my D partition, wich had alot of free space. But i didn't notice Windows uses the c partition (i think, i'm not sure) to store temporal data so my c: disk crashed and now, when i try to start windows, a beautiful message box tells me something like "cannot load api: insufficient resources". (the exact message I don't remember, but I can write it in a few hours when I get home.

I entered with d.o.s. diskette, but it tells me that disk have like 1 GB of free disk space. But I remember that liitle time before crashing I saw c: disk and it tells me 24 kb of disk space. So I'm not sure what is happening :( I deleted some files with d.o.s., but it didn't worked to me.

Please if any1 have any idea of what can I do for my pc i'll appreciate :(

Can you give us a few more details of the system you're having the problems with, please?

Operating system

Size of the "C" drive

Size of the "D" drive

Yes, of course. I'm using Windows XP Pro, the C Drive has 13 GB (with nothing free now, I think) and D drive has 20 GB with 2.5 free GB. They are partitions of the same disk.

I can enter with a D.O.S. diskette, but i don't know where the temp files can be (and how I said in the previous post, d.o.s. tells me that there are 1.2 free GB in C:, but i'm sure they wasn't when my pc crashed).

Can you boot Windows normally now?

If not, can you boot into Safe Mode?

Either way, download, install, and run CCleaner to remove most of the unused temp files on your C: drive.

P.S. CCleaner also removes Cookies by default, so if there are any login cookies you want to keep, configure them first (Tools | Cookies) before you run CCleaner for the first time.
