simonm
Hi all,I'm a new member and this is my first post. Hoping someone can help.I have an internet connection problem with one of my PCs. It's an HP Pavillion dv7 running Vista Home Premium and is only 4 months old.In Network & sharing center my connecton shows as active. ie. connected to home network and internet. Running Ipconfig shows all config is correct. The problem is that I can't connect to any websites, mail servers or FTP servers. I'm also unable to ping any wan addresses. Pings to lan addresses are successful. The wierd part is that Windows Update and side bar gadgets still seem to be able to download content.I am also running another vista home premium laptop (wireless), an XP desktop (wired ethernet) and iphone (wireless) on the network with no problems. Also the Volume and NCSI Icons have disappeared from the system tray not certain that this is a connected issue as I've read about this problem elsewhere and lost internet connection has not been mentioned in relation to this. I've tried adjusting the settings in NETSH to a less sensitive config and switching windows firewall off all to no avail. Can anybody help with this? Its driving me NUTS!!!ThanksSimon
homecomputeraid
Hi SimonM,When you say your ip configuration is all correct, what is all correct? Can you post "ipconfig /all" output from a working and non-working computer? Sorry if I missed this in your post, but is the computer that is having connectivity problems connecting via wireless or a cabled connection?Do all of your computers have the latest Microsoft updates, and working and up to date Antivirus installed?
