He wants to migrate his Outlook Inbox, Contacts etc from his old desktop onto this laptop but..... Seems it only has Outlook Express??? And will not play ball.... maureenc Posted April 23, 2009 Author Report Share Posted April 23, 2009 Hello again Pat....He still has problems on the OLD machine.... He can't get into the MAIL option on the control panel.... It keeps telling him that there isn't enough space.... He's deleted a load of stuff, cleaned up disc and defragged and there is loads of space available but it still own't let him..... He even tried it logged on as me (I have only 2 E-mails on that PC) and that doesn't work either.....I can do it OK on my laptop....Any ideas Pat? He is starting to get grumpy! Under 'Hidden files and folders', select 'Show hidden files and folders'.Now you (he) can do a search for *.PST files (Start | Search | For files and folders...).The file dates will tell what files have been used recently. In Vista there is no Outlook Express .......... it has been replaced by Windows Mail, an improved e‑mail program with enhancements such as junk e‑mail filtering and protection against phishing.Are you trying to transfer the files from the full Outlook product (part of Microsoft Office), or are you trying to transfer old Outlook Express files (included within XP) over to the new Vista PC ? We are not interested in and new software as the old stuff works just fine....We are trying to transfer from the old full Outlook to the new full Outlook... which should work easily but, as this is Vista it doesn't.Mo Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
