warsaw Posted April 23, 2009 Report Share Posted April 23, 2009 Hello, I have a problem trying to run Windows Update, first when I try to update it with IE7 I get this error code: 0x80070424. And my PC says that I have the automatic updates off, but when I try to activate them it tells me that it is not possible, and when I go to the registry with "Run-services.msc" the "Automatic Updates" file is missing, what can i do??? Try the following to start with:click Startchoose Runin the Run box type (or copy-and-paste the text below)net stop wuauservregsvr32 wuapi.dllregsvr32 wups.dllregsvr32 wuaueng.dllregsvr32 wucltui.dllregsvr32 MSXML3.dllregsvr32 qmgr.dllregsvr32 qmgrprxy.dllnet start wuauservRestart your computer, then try running Windows Update again from http://www.update.microsoft.com/.
