MyNameHere Posted April 23, 2009 Report Share Posted April 23, 2009 Firstly, I must say that it took way to much to be able to register to this forum, I understand tryi8ng to avoid spammers and bots, but it shouldn't take potential members twenty minutes of hell just to get the registration code to finally match. On yo my problem...I was using my fathers computer (which may become mine), he has a widescreen monitor, EMachine with Windows XP (Home I think it is). Windows Media Player 11 is installed on the machine. I played an .avi File last night and it worked just fine, the display area for the video was filled with the movie I was watching. Then for kicks (as its widescreen) I wanted to try a DVD, only to find that for some reason the image of the DVD is small and doesn't take up the display area, almost as if the settings were changed so it wasn't as big. The problem is they are the same as the settings were when I played the .avi file. Any idea as to what could be doing this, or a fix? MyNameHere Posted April 23, 2009 Author Report Share Posted April 23, 2009 Maybe I haven't given a good first impression, and for that I am sorry, it's not the forum's fault, but my reaction was combined with already being upset along with my eye troubles (which probably is the root of the issues I had signing up). With that said, I should have mentioned that the video size (where you pick 50%, 100% etc....) is at 200% each time, and "resize video to player" is checked off. I have checked every setting I can think to check, the DVDs themselves seem to play just fine (although I hear a couple sound things sometimes...but thats another issue), but even the menus display smaller. It's all done inside of a square (which make a a widescreen video even smaller as the black bars are well seen for some reason). I happened to select properties during the playing of a DVD, and I saw something like "Display size 16:9; actual 4:3" not sure if that helps at all (or even has something to do with it).Again, sorry for the wrong first impression, nothing the forum (or anyone here) has done.
