bazoooka
Hi all, this is my first topic on here :) Thanks in advance for the answers. So, my problem started nearly one month ago. Everytime the pc is in an unusual stress activity, it blocks: but it does not block totally, it denies me to do about 90% of normal activities: I cannot interact with the opened windows, i cannot select the active window from the task bar or the tray, i cannot even close them sometimes: I success in open task manager with ctrl-alt-canc but i cannot interact with it: i can only see the cpu usage. For "i cannot interact" i mean: No possibility to scroll bars, nor click on buttons, nor control the window (minimize, maximize, drag, close ).This all appens for example when i load a heavy firefox page, or when i open some application. When the operation ends, all turns ok.Last time it occurred when i was copying a huge file from one disk to another one. It never appened before.I have windows xp pro, on a P5W DH Deluxe mobo by asus, 2gb of corsair, ati x1950 xt, 500W power supplyExcuse for my unperfect english , i'm italian :) If you need some more infos, tell me. bazoooka
i forgot to add, that if for example i was listening to music, music continues to get played normally; if i was watching a video, the video continues its playback. The only thing is taht i'm unable to control my pc.Also, this kind of block appens when an application tries to access the internet and it is blocked from my firewall. Or when the application itself is waiting for a response from a server.

bazoooka
Did you check your system for malware (virus, trojan, spyware) ?Not a complete virus scan yet, but i have my Kaspersky that should have protected me enough. Btw, yesterday i did a defrag, now it seems that the problem is not occurring... Let's wait then! Thanks for the suggestion
