harpreetgill21 Posted May 16, 2009 Report Share Posted May 16, 2009 i got a pop and it had a pic of the automatic updates pictures, so i went in to control panel and the Automatic Updates were off so i turn them on then i close it, then i went back to check if they were still on but they turnned off again. this keeps happening. Also before i reinstalled my comp. go a virus and the virus thing that popped up was the Automatic Updates is off, your computer may be at risk, or something generally like thatWhat Should I Do????? Dencandy Posted May 18, 2009 Report Share Posted May 18, 2009 It's possible that one of the viruses turned automatic updates off by altering the registry. There's a way to reset things correctly described at this link from Microsoft: HERE. It doesn't always work but is worth trying, otherwise you may have to re-install Windows or make do with manual updates.Have you now got yourself a proper ant-virus program?
