Redundant Application copies in system

Hello,

Microsoft 2000 and later stores programs in %root%\Program Files\

Now for each user on the system it seems to store copies of the programs [once used] again in

%root%\Documents and Settings\<<user name>>\Application Data\Application\

Are they really necessary, and how can I be rid of them?

Thanks

Do you mean Windows 2000, or Office 2000?

Either way, programs are not copied in %APPDATA%, but as the folder name says, application data are.

If your Windows / Office does that, then something is seriously wrong with your installation. Can you give some examples what is duplicated?
