richardq Posted August 4, 2009 Report Share Posted August 4, 2009 Hi My laptop key for the number one and exclaimation mark, (not 2, 3, 4, etc) has stopped working - its been dodgy for some time and i've tried compressed air to clean it but it juct doesent work now. This is a real pain as it means i cant enter my normal password into favourit sites. Is there any way i can re-assign the function of the key next to it (that i never use) so that it "becomes" one??thanks for any helpR Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
-pops- Posted August 4, 2009 Report Share Posted August 4, 2009 This is certainly possible but I am unsure that the way to do this is within the remit of Windows Forum.Re-assigning keys is very much open to abuse - I know of a number of "jokers" who have used this to wreck other computers.A search on Google will tell you how to do this but, as far as WF is concerned, this is it - unless, of course I am not supported in my views. Note that you must use the numeric keypad for the number input.But I think there is also a way to replace your laptop keyboard; shouldn't be more expensive than an external keyboard.
