I tried to copy a cd with Nero it originally had 48 idx files now I have over 12,000!!! When try to delete them they keep coping themselves. I have deleted Nero and all burning programs but can't find which one is copying them. Please Help!!!

Hi, I wanted to make a copy of a copyrighted audio talking cd, not music.

Nero Express remembers the last folder visited when adding files to a compilation.

They were originally created as a database because you opted to save your settings in Nero after each burn ? - so new ones would have been be created when you chose that option again.

Simple attempted fix first :)

Have you tried booting in Safe Mode (hold down F8 key while booting) and then deleting them from there ?

If that does not do it :( - then try this more complicated process

Go to

Start

Search

All files and folders.

In the search pane type '*.idx' (without the quotes) and OK.

When the search is complete

Go to

Edit

Select All and then hit delete on your keyboard.

Hope this solves it !
