LunarWolf Posted September 10, 2009 Report Share Posted September 10, 2009 I have tried multiple *nix based OS's and decided Windows is better.I have an Acer AspireOne which came with Windows XP.I am in University Studying Computer Science and am currently programming in java as part of the course.I need to have a Dos based System (much preffered to Linux).I need to install "TextPad" , "Bluej" , "Netbeans" , "Internet Explorer" and I have "Visual Basic 6"(used for leisure) which entails pre-installation of the Sun JDK.I need NO FURTHER USE OF THIS SYSTEM!I need to chose an OS, test it in Sun VirtualBox, and then install it from USB (I foudn this tutorial and tested it findign it perfect http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-install-...-working-guide/ ).I have licenses for windows xp, vista, windows 7, all 32 and 64 bit proffessional and business editions...I can get any other license through downgrade rights in the t+c from Microsoft, aswel las through the MSDNAA as a student.now, what I need from readers...1) An OS choice (nlite and vlite are a no-go...too much hassle with using discs when I am 40 miles form home and all my discs are there and I wont be home for a few months)2) Advice on how to strip it down majorly to the extents I have prior expressed3) Any further advice and driver compatability warnings.
