Luigi
Hi guys, I am having a problem with my Firewire. I am using Windows XP on a HP Pavilion a6030n. When I plug in my external Harddrive (Western Digital - WD 2500) via FireWire my Windows XP starts acting up. For instance, it won't open certain folders, meaning it doesn't even respond if I double click the folders. Also, I cannot open certain programs, like outlook, the browser, etc. As soon as I unplug the FireWire cable and reboot, everything goes back to normal.I use Driver Detective to make sure my drivers are up-to-date. The external Harddrive works fine as it is since my Powerbook Mac can read it without any problems, and so does my PC laptop. My only problem is my main HP PC. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time. Luigi
-pops-
As a first observation, it appears that your computer is unable to supply enough power for all the peripherals that you want to use. Do you know if the drive draws power from the Firewire connector?(There have been several problems recently that seem to be connected with power issues).
