Bitlocker is enabled but no password is required on bootup!

I have a new Thinkpad X301 with Solid State Drive. I have enabled Bitlocker and Windows says that it is active and is using the TPM chip. However, at no point during bootup does the machine ask for a password, so I don't understand how Bitlocker is protecting anything!

So, at what point does Bitlocker start decrypting, and what do I need to do to set a password in the correct place?

Thank you.
