xuesheng Posted October 27, 2009 Report Share Posted October 27, 2009 At home I normally want MS Outlook 2007 on the principal computer (WinXP) to receive and store all incoming mail. So when the principal computer is down, as it is now, I have an alternate computer on which I use Windows Live Mail for email. I want to download copies of mail for me to read on the alternate computer, but I want Windows Live Mail to leave the original on my ISP's server, so I can download it to Outlook when the principal computer is restored. But I've forgotten how to configure Windows Live Mail to do that, and can't seem to find the setting. Can anyone point me to it? Thanks. xuesheng Posted October 27, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 27, 2009 Replying to my own posting, with an update. The hourglass no longer hangs, the cursor moves, and some icons respond. And the same error message re-appears, telling that the Trend Micro Personal Firewall is disabled and needs to be 'fixed'. It advised me to 'restart Trend Micro', or restart the computer. Instead, I'm running a full scan of the drive to check for malware. I guess this isn't a Windows problem after all. I'll try to take it up with the Trend Micro online support.
