Deleting C:\Backup

Hey everyone,

I just installed Windows 7, custom install from Vista.

The old backup folders that are still from vista remain in c:\backup. I have taken what I want from these and they take up a good 18 G or so. I attempted to recycle them but I was told "access is denied". I should ask, is it safe to delete these? And how do I do so?

I already used the disc cleanup to get rid of the windows.old that was created for me.

Thanks!

You need to take ownership of these folders. Here's how to do it in Windows 7: WINDOWS7 FORUM.

As you've already taken what you want from these it should be safe to delete the files after you've taken ownership of them. If you are unsure, keep them in the recycle bin bin for a while so you can recover any you need (note: they will still take up hard disk space until deleted).
