SnollaSnax
I am trying to install a program and right before the installation initializes this error message comes up "Product: Steinberg Cubase Essential 5 -- String 1305. String reading from file E:\Cubase Essential 5 for Windows\CubaseEssential5.msi. System String 1008. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it." The cd is not damage. I have all available updates. I thought it was the firewall but its not. I am running a HP G60 Notebook Laptop with a Pentium Dual Core CPU, 3GB of Ram, and is a 32 Bit OS. Now I am not an expert (in fact I know nothing about the serious tech/code side of computers) and I don't even know what a lot of what I just typed means. The programs meets the requirements and also installs fine on my mothers Dell laptop that has a similar setup. Can anyone help me out? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Welcome to the Windows Forum.A few questions:- what is your Windows version?- what is your D: drive - CD or HD?- you mention the firewall: what firewall is it, and how do you know that it is not causing the problem?- do you have antivirus and/or anti-spyware installed?- do you run the Cubase installation as an administrator user?
