It's kind of hard to explain, but pretty much, whenever I want to highlight a word, the word does not stay highlighted. For instance, I will highlight a word, but as soon as I let go of the Left-click button, the highlighting goes away. I'll have to do it numerous times before I can actually keep the word highlighted. Also, occasionally, when I want to click on something like say, the "File" option at the top of a web page, the box drops down, but only for a second. I have to click "File" several times before the drop-down box actually stays down.Hopefully that makes sense. Is this a problem with my mouse? Or is there some option I can change to fix this? But I suspect that it is a hardware problem - that the click-release somehow triggers another down-click (or something).Can you try an alternate selection method: place the cursor on the left side of the text you want to highlight, hold the Shift key down, then click at the end of the text - does that work? It was relatively inexpensive, so I don't mind buying a new one. I guess I just want to be sure that it's a problem with the mouse. Also, I would not want to have any issues again in the future (assuming I buy the same Dell mouse, because I do actually like it).Thanks for the suggestions, though! You may not be able to get a DELL mouse, as they are sometines strange when it comes to external hardware replacement. I remember trying to get a new DELL keyboard a while ago, and they insisted that they cannot sell me a DELL keyboard alone. At the end they (DELL) ordered a Microsoft keyboard for me...
