I am sure we will be able to help you :)Can you tell me a few things first?What virus did you get and is your system clean now?What is your operating system..... ie W98 or Wxp etcWhat problems are you having exactly?? sammigel Posted September 4, 2003 Author Report Share Posted September 4, 2003 hi nellie thankyou for your response i had the blaster worm im operating windows xp every time i turn my pc on i get the error mentioned in my first post the pc keeps locking up i have run various checks and the worm seems to have been removed but so has this windows 32 program every time i try to watch a dvd i get a message come up in a grey box saying something like pdc error windows is now shutting down hope you can help sam Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If so search for 'msiefr40.dll' and the key should be here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runsimply delete it. Guest LB Posted September 4, 2003 Report Share Posted September 4, 2003 this is a reference in your registry to a piece of adware which hijacks your system.After a little research, you need to download Lavasoft's Adaware, update it and run it in order to clean your system.
