penelope77
For years I have used ACDSee 3.1 as a graphics viewer, and always used the arrow keys to pan around an image. (I do not like using the mouse for that). Recently I came upon Fastone Image Viewer 4.1 Beta 2 today and I really love it, except that it uses the windows keyboard control speeds for arrow-key panning, which causes it to be very choppy. I'm not sure how ACDSee did it, but its entirely independent of the windows settings, and results in a super-quick and smooth panning ability. Is there some setting or modification I can make to Faststone to have similiar arrow-key panning abilities as ACDSee? I did not see it anywhere in the settings, and did not find a configuration file of any sort to modify. Thanks for looking.PenPS. I'd post this at the Faststone website but apparently they don't have a support forum...
MANEMAN
Hi Pen, and Welcome.Reading through your post it would seem to be software specific rather than a fault with your operating system. I think you are also in agreement with that finding. For an answer, it now relies on someone here reading the forum to have, or to have had Faststone Image Viewer of the exact version as yours installed on their computer.Be mindful also that you are using a Beta version of this software, therefore it is not yet fully developed.Faststone always require feedback (Especially in Beta stages) to allow them to sort out the bugs. You will probably find that in the final product, the fault of which you complain may not be there anymore.However. If you do not mention it too them, - they may not know."As the end-user of our programs, you are best qualified to judge how well we are succeeding at providing quality software to the world community. Without your feedback it is very difficult to gauge what, if anything, we should improve to better serve you in the future. We are receptive to all comments on our programs and certainly appreciate the time you take to let us know how we are doing. Suggestions for improvements and new features are always welcomed." Please feel free to contact us at: [email protected].By all means look back here again soon just in case another readers experience is the same as your own.John. Will stick with ACDSee 3.1 for now. By the way, the problem is on all previous versions of Faststone, not just the Beta. Pen
