Problem with Revo Uninstaller

Recommended Posts

I just attempted to uninstall Adobe Media Player with Revo Uninstaller. I have used Revo for my primary uninstaller without ever any issues or discrepancies. After the player is removed with the Adobe uninstall tool, Revo does a deeper search of the registry for other entries. My confusion is that the leftover files all point to Windows Media Player. I didn't look at all of the 829 items Revo found but I didn't see any reference to the Adobe Media Player in the ones I did look at.

This is on a fresh install of Windows 7 and the last thing I want is to start out with a lot of garbage in the registry. Any suggestions will be muched appreciated.

Hi there. Welcome back.

I too use Revo.

So...... You pointed it at Adobe Media Player, - it uninstalled it, it found stuff in the registry, it uninstalled that. - "End of".

All the other stuff about Windows Media Player, the number 892, and references to registry, dont seem to have any relevance to your request for suggestions.

Dont have any then.

Do a registry backup before installing each piece of software, keep your Anti-Virus, and Anti-Malware up to date, do weekly scans.

Dont worry too much about garbage in the registry. Apart from Viruses, Malware, and Rootkits, not much interferes or slows it up, it's mostly a myth put around by people trying to sell registry cleaners that either dont work or actually damage the registry.

One uninstall of Adobe Media Player with Revo, - even if it has gone wrong, will not cause a slow up of your system.

Far too many people "deeply worried" about their registry, but not worried enough to do a backup.

Start using *ERUNT*........... - or get it **Here** (It's Free !) and will do a daily backup automatically, or you can do a manual backup as mentioned.

You can review Disk Imaging with the likes of Acronis or Macrium, and even stick your toes into the world of virtualization for free with Returnil.

Get a few things lined up, read about them, install them, and never again will you be moanin' or bitchin' about your registry again. :)

John.
