USB Device Not Recognized

I'm having a problem with my headset which I recently bought. What happens is, I'm trying to install it via the CD it came with, but in order to install it I need Windows to recognize the device and it does not. It comes up on the driver CD, "Insert USB sound device before continuing" but how can I install the driver in order for it to work if Windows doesn't recognize this in the first place? I've made sure all other drivers are up to date and everything's actually working, any help or guide to this situation would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Another thing is, I try to install the best driver for it through Device Manager, but then it comes up The best driver for this device is already installed "Unknown Device"

Then I check it and it says "There's no driver for this device installed" It's beginning to really annoy me. Again, thanks in advance. :)

Do you have the correct drivers?

According to http://www.gmb.nl/item_view.aspx?id=2881 there are drivers for Windows 98SE/ME and W7 (oddly not XP or Vista). Ensure you have W7 drivers - which you may not have if the device is old stock.

Can you test in another USB port?
