Vista: Not able to assign a static IP

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

When I go to:

Control Panel-->Internet & Networks--> NEtwork Connections

And select the Local Area connection --> And properties ---> IPv4 Protocol

Choose "Use next IP address" --> Set the Ip adderss as 192.168.2.105 and netmask as default 255.255.255.0

Press "Acept"

Then run the cmd as root user and run the "ipconfig" command:

I only discover that the Local Area Network is saying:

Local Area Network:

...............Media not Connected

What the hell? With DHCP when I put the cable it works. But if I try to assign a static IP (without the cable, but have not try with the cable) the the static IP is not set

What is going on?
