Hi there,

Hello good day,,i just need a little help because my CPU has only single core and i am using windows xp in my computer..but sometimes it's kinda laggy..and im thinking that maybe a single core can't handle windows xp..pls help need an advice on what OS should i use thanks in advance for any replies

XP handles single core with no problems. Look for tips in this forums on how to speed XP. Replace your default applications with faster apps , for example use Chrome instead of Internet Explorer, use Foxit Reader instead of Adobe Reader or use Abi Word instead of Office Word.

Alternatively you can try some flavours of Linux that are designed for low specs systems . If you post your specs here, as well as what use your computer for \, we can give you more detailed information.

like seshomaru said you could try out different distributors (distro) of Linux. If your computer is old sometimes its a good idea to install Linux for simple task like using the Internet or Open Office. I can help you test and install Linux if you would like. You don't need to upgrade for xp, You can edit the startup applications to speed up boot time.

Yeah,and you'd better make sure you have enough free space in your SYSTEM PARTITION.
