Windows Vista, Windows 7

Hello everyone, I have a kind of wierd problem with my windows Vista. When I bought my computer I had Windows Vista home premium on it but then my windows vista disappeared and so I switched to Windows 7 instead. and now I decided to take back my old vista and followed this page:

Through Old Windows file and command prompt, I could get back my old vista, but now the problem is just that when I

start my computer, then the menu where you must choose which operating system but it says that one can only shose Windows 7 and administrator. though I now have vista. is there any way that you can get it to be Windows Vista instead of Windows 7? I know it's a bit corny but I would like that it is Windows or Windows Vista instead of Windows 7 so if anyone knows how to do it then you can help me.

Also, when you installed Windows 7, did you upgrade Vista, or did you install it on a separate partition?

Yes simply I started up my computer and then it started loading windows files and then it just restarted all the time after windows had loaded the files and then because i di not had a vista dvd i tried to boot from hardisk but then it just said Operating system not found.

I loaded my old files of vista with kommandpromt and trough the windows 7 dvd I could replace the windows 7 files with my vista files in Windows.old folder.

So I started the windows 7 dvd and then repair disc and then trough kommandpromt I could overwrite the windows 7 files with my old windows vista files from the windows.old file on the computer.

see the link in the description but I had an windows old file with my windows old vista files in. So I found a way to copy the files from the windows old file and move them to primary OS(C:)and all this was done jus by put in my windows 7 cd and then click on repair and the a number of choises came up "Make a restore cd, Restore to factory setings.... and then I clicked kommanotolken (in swedish) and then i wrote "Move /y C:Windows.old/program/ C:" or something like that I wrote all the files in the windows old files like "move /y C:Windows.old/users/ C:" in the kommandotolken and pressed enter. then restarted the computer and the vista was there.

I think what you are asking is how to get the windows vista option back in the operating system selection menu. I think this can be done with fixboot in the recovery console of windows vista or windows 7.

When you boot your OS then you had taken back up any files you need before wiping your hard drive, and then follow the on-screen prompts to format your hard drive. From there, simply install the operating system as normal, and Windows 7 will be gone.
