Recovering Data

Recommended Posts

I have a drive with data that I want to save on a cd but its an unformatted

disk. I can't lose the data. I was using a bootable linux and well after

recovering my data I wanted to be ballsy and format partisions on the same

hardrive with fdisk. well fdisk acted like it usually doesnt and tampered

with a partition I didnt want it to without my permission. Making the drive

that my data is on un readably and unformatted yet it shouldn't have.

Anyways I have a unformatted partition with data on it that I need to recover.

A good free recovery programme is Recuva - Download from here

An even more powerful recovery program is Easeus. The free version is limited to recovering 1 GB of data but an unlimited paid for version removes this limit.

Easeus Download

Expect either programme to take a long time to search your disk and recover files. Your folder structure may be lost so there is much manual work to do after the files are recovered to get things back in order.
