goblin1
Hi,Is there really much benefit to connecting via Wireless-N as opposed to Wireless-G? Will I notice the difference? I'm on a 10mbit connection, with a Draft-N router, but my desktop isn't Draft N-compatible, but.. I'm not sure if I'd see much of a difference if it was. Online gaming is my thing; I think the speeds and lag I get are at acceptable levels, but I've been told switching to draft-N will make things even better. I'm considering http://www.cisco-routers.co.uk/u/pd/nwd170...5159001b/771397 .. any thoughts?Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong section, I'm a newbie :)Thanks in advance! goblin1
I've been told this - http://ramblax.co.uk/p~p-96172624~Linksys-WMP600N-WiFi-80211-N-Dual-Band-PCI-Card-4260039348245.aspx - would be better suited to a desktop - any thoughts? Syndrose
If all you are using it for is online gaming, then Wireless B is ok.Most internet connections are around 1Mbps (and thats peak, not constant) Wireless G can go up to 54Mbps. So you do the math, its pretty easy.Whoever told you that Wireless N will improve it, is just trying to sell you something.
