Windos 7 login problems

I just rebooted my computer, after an 8 hours session, when I got to my login screen it kept telling me "Password is incorrect." - Despite me writing exactly the same as 8-9 hours earlier (and no, I did not change the password and just forgot).

I've tried typing it in caps holding shift down, tried using all capital letters, heck, even tried some of the other passwords I use for different things, but nothing takes.

I've come here to this amazing forums in hope for some help, either how to bypass or remove the password login totally, I really don't want to reformat the computer as I have a lot of work-related and important files there, which I haven't sent to email/backed up on a USB.

It is against the forums rules to tell you how to bypass passwords, but if you know how to install an operating system, then download a Linux live ISO and burn it to Cd.

Boot from the live CD and it will allow you to access the Windows files and transfer them.

Were-as you can't type it here, could you send it to me as a PM then? I own a legit windows 7 Ultimate, so if that's needed, I got it here. As mentioned, I'd rather skip formating as I just got everything back up from last formate -- and the files.

Hi Pharaun, when Alan says to boot from a live cd of linux, it doesn't mean you have to format.

Those live cd runs directly from the iso burned on the cd, they are kind of trying before installing.

Once you are in linux ambient (simply booting with the cd) you have full access to hard drives, so you can save and transfer things from windows partition to dvd or other hd.

Hi Jarle, I don't have the possibility to burn an iso on this computer, do it's sadly out of the question. But could you take a look at this post I made (different subject): http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php?showtopic=45484 -- If you know how to bypass that, you're my hero.
