Glenvern
I have instructed IE to open 'Maximised' which it does when opened from the desktop. When a page is called from the search engine results or from a link it opens 'Normal' how do I get it to open Maximised every time? bludgard
Some sites don't adhere to settings for IE.There are scripting issues or some such thing. Some other browsers don't seem to have this problem. There is a small third-party program that is supposed to help maximize other than IE windows:--->AutoSizerYou could give it a try and if it is not to your liking, remove it from your OS.Or you could try this method that has worked for several people:Open a webpage. Stretch it out to fullsize. Don't use maximize.Choose any link on that webpage and right-click> open in a new window.Stretch that second window out to the desired size- don't use maximize.Close the first IE window. Then close that second resized window. If this above workaround doesn't initialy work, try setting IE to normal size and try again.Keep us updated as to how this works for you.Thanks. Glenvern
Tried both ways same result -IE opens maximised (in this instance to Google) and a google 'search results page' opens maximised but pick a website from the results page and it opens normal. Very frustrating having to click the maximise screen box every time.

bludgard
Also looked at Microsoft's answers forum and they gave the "open, open, stretch, stretch, close, close"as a way of solving it but didn't work.I tried this method and it worked for me.There are other window maximizers out there.Test drive some if this bothers you that much.I am at a loss as to what else to suggest. If you get it sorted, let us know.I'm sure others out there would LOVE to know how to combat this. You could try another browser.I am dumbfounded that this has been going on for years as well as complaints on the matter and engineers at MS haven't found it important enough to add an option to keep all windows maximized for those that are irked beyond sanity by this IE behavior. Sorry I couldn't help.I am at a loss.
