weeroz15 Posted November 14, 2010 Report Share Posted November 14, 2010 I have a copmaq presario cq61 laptop i tried 2 switch it on this morning and it tried 2 repair itself but couldnt so i tried all different options like system restore which wouldnt work as it said there was no safe date 2 restore 2 and starting in safe mode which did not work either, tried other we tests and it came up sayin replace hard disc 1, i take it that means i need a new hard drive? if so can it be fixed and will it cost me a fortune? Just walk into a computer shop, give them the details of your laptap and your version of Windows & you'll be given a quotation for a replacement hd. You'll need the original installlation disk to re-install Windows & you'll have to go through the bother of getting Microsoft to accept the product key with a new hard disk. If your laptop is under warranty, bring it to your nearest authorized service center else, you can try removing your hard drive, clean the terminals and insert it again after a few minutes.
