ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
No, they are different - made specifically by that manufacturer for their own hardware (OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer).
Digerati
Well, Windows XP SP2 is Windows XP SP2 and they are made by Microsoft. But OEM versions distributed by original equipment makers have modified their versions - often so they will only install on their hardware. And for the record, the license agreement the makers make with Microsoft stipulate they will only be used on the computer they are sold with, and you as the user, agreed to the same license agreement when you first used the computer. In other words, you cannot use an OEM license on any other computer (or motherboard, unless replaced with a like motherboard as part of a repair action).
