Power on by mouse

My operating system is XP.

I accessed the CMOS Setup Utility. Under Power Management Setup is a section Power on by mouse. I changed the disabled to Double-Click. I saved the change.

I now put the computer in stand by mode. Double clicking the mouse does nothing. In order to revive the computer, I have to push the power button on the tower.

In past computers, the light on the tower changed colors when put in stand by. On this computer the light is off.

What am I missing?
