jimbo78
I have been running a windows 7 which i now think is not genuine.. I have purchased on line a version of windows7 ultimate, and i am a little dubious about the install. How should i install the new version. Will it automatically clean and replace all of the false windows7 that is on my pc now?

-pops-
If your current version of Windows is a fake, there is no way of telling how it will behave when it is required to do something non-standard - such as trying to replace it with a genuine version. My own approach would be yo install a new hard drive and install your genuine version of Windows on to that. You can then easily reformat the original drive for use as a spare or secondary drive for storage/backup.Hard drives are a reasonably low cost item and using my method could save a lot of heartache and frustration.
