mannyanthony Posted December 4, 2010 Report Share Posted December 4, 2010 After a virus afected my pc I reinstalled my os on d: and I did it 'cause is a bigger hd with more gig. But the partition with the virus and the old infected os still called C: and shows at start up. I'm lucky and my pc start up automatic with the D: os . I try to format the partition C: where the virus is but windows do not let me. Please help me I run out of ideas. Will like to have the extra space and will like only one os at start up. Thanks . Can you delete the partition, then recreate it?It is the C: system partition where windows was installed originally. Because is label like a system windows won't let be delete or format or anything . D: is label as a boot partition . Windows will not let to rename or delete or format system or boot disks (partitions). Maybe can be done with a partition program like swichtblade. Because this is a windows forum I thought somebody will know is there a easy way using windows. Maybe I just installed a fresh copy of windows on C: but still I will have two os on my computer and I only need one.
