Hi lisakki,

can you navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump, zip up the contents and post them here. I'll then be able to read what the dump file contains.

If however you don't find the above folder then you'll need to configure windows to create these dumps when a blue screen happens.

If you check the screen shot provided I've arrowed how to get to the setting in question..

Any problems please post back.

Does it actually say, "BlueScreen"? I don't think I have seen that before. Sadly, Error code 8e is a general code indicating some device is not loading properly. It could be graphics, or just about anything else. Hopefully, the mini-dump will reveal something.

Did you recently make any hardware changes? Does this error occur every time?

PS - Hey Ross! Good to see you here.

I read your DMP file in "Blue Screen View". Here it is.

Dump File Crash Time Bug Check String Bug Check Code Parameter 1 Parameter 2 Parameter 3 Parameter 4 Caused By Driver Caused By Address File Description Product Name Company File Version Processor Computer Name Full Path Processors Count Major Version Minor Version

120510-45240-01.dmp 05/12/2010 08:00:48 PM KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED 0x1000008e 0xc0000005 0x8d352448 0xb09b9ac4 0x00000000 win32k.sys win32k.sys+e2448 32-bit C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\New_Compressed_(zipped)_Folder\120510-45240-01.dmp 2 15 7600

The days of sending someone a DMP file to read are long gone. You just download here: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html

and read your own DMP file.

As you can see win32k.sys is your problem.

As you can see from this link: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=win32k.sys+blue+screen+windows+7&aq=4&aqi=g10&aql=&oq=win32k.sys&gs_rfai= there is a 29,000 result return.

Start working your way througgh some stuff. :(

John.
