bludgard
jmaster18,do you have any Image Backups predating this from which to recover from?(I know that there are plenty of threads on this forum where others are implored to create backups to have a quick, reliable easy-out in the event of unacceptable failure). If not,you may want to run CHKDSK and/or SFC /SCANNOW to attempt recovery of corrupt or missing files. There are also tools on your OS install media under the Repair My Computer section that may help.If you have the System Reserved partition,You may be able to reach these tools by pressing F8 repeatedly at boot.Hope something is useful to you.
