Here are just a few Manufacturer websites, these are the most common that i have came accross while on the forums, it will guide you to the correct website for your computer enabling you to download the correct drivers.

I will update the list as i go;

I was gonna say thanks for the post, - and yes always try Manufacturers support before anything else.

Unless that is you come up against a Toshiba Tecra M2. - The drivers and manual for that can be found here:

The reason I am posting this crap is because it caused me and it's owner some pain. Posting here may save someone else ripping their hair out. Every known version of the required AC97 driver caused it to BSOD.

Even the good old "Crucial" memory scan didn't recognise this machine, nor did the Toshiba identification scan on their site.

All working now. There had to be a correct sequence of installing the drivers which had to be worked out before the bloody thing would function though ! :angry:

I hope that you'll forgive me that I have edited your original post and removed some misplaced apostrophes (website's, driver's, ...). I do not usually do that if it's one or two, but when it repeats itself almost twenty times, I just couldn't help myself... :0
